The latest case is from Texas, America, where an 18-year-old guy entered the school and opened fire, in which 23 people have died so far and critical counting on.
The reason for this is being attributed to American gun culture, but it is not the only reason. Many similarities have been seen among the attackers who carry out such incidents. In a study in America, data was collected from 1966 till now on all those mass shooters in the country who killed more than four people in public places. Some facts were found to be exactly the same in all these murderers.
Victim of violence in childhood
The Los Angeles Times report, in collaboration with the National Institute of Justice, a research arm of the US Department of Justice, revealed that most mass shooters suffered trauma as a child and experienced violence at an early age. The parents of most of these attackers committed suicide, suffered physical or sexual abuse as a child, or were victims of domestic violence or abuse.
Anxiety or frustration caused by an event
It has been seen in most of the mass shooters that due to anger or frustration about something, they have reached this stage. Usually, the attackers who did mass shooting at the workplace got in a rage due to change in their work or position and carried out such an incident. In other cases, being cheated in love or unable to tolerate rejection is also a reason.
Follow in the footsteps of other shooters
Most of the shooters had thought of taking revenge by following in the footsteps of the attackers who had committed such incidents earlier. Social fear and his craze towards mass shooting compel him to do so.
Take revenge for murder
Most of the shooters assume that there is nothing left to live in life and taking such a step like murder is the right revenge in their eyes.
According to statistics, in 80 percent of school mass shootings in the US, the attackers used family guns. Attackers shooting in the workplace mostly use handguns, which they can easily buy legally.
According to the report of non-profit organization Gun Violence Archive, there have been 212 mass shootings till May 2022. According to GVA, firing cases in which four people are killed or injured are counted as mass shootings. According to the report, in 2021, 693 cases of mass shooting were reported in America.
