US Secretary of State will Visit to India on July 27 [TKB-World]

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting India for the first time. He will visit to India on July 27 on a two-day visit. During this two-day visit of the US Secretary of State, the focus will be on the latest situation in Afghanistan, China, Quad Vaccine Diplomacy. America’s Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Dean Thompson has said that issues related to human rights and democracy will also be raised during this time.

Dean Thompson, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, said in response to a question that we will raise issues related to human rights and democracy. These are subjects where we have more commonality of values. Significantly, this will be the first visit of US Secretary of State Blinken to India. Blinken, who is on a two-day visit to the world’s largest democracy, will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as his counterpart Dr S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said that Blinken will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval on July 28. The statement issued by the State Department also said that Blinken’s visit is an opportunity to continue high-level bilateral dialogue and further strengthen the India-US global strategic partnership.

On behalf of the US State Department, it has been said that the two countries will review the multi-faceted bilateral relationship and discuss strengthening it. Along with mutual interests between the two countries, regional and global issues like Corona epidemic, Indo-Pacific region, Afghanistan and cooperation in the United Nations will be discussed. The US State Department has also said that we will also discuss our health cooperation to combat Corona, including the Quad Vaccine Partnership.
