Tech-Lightspeed has $275 million for third India fund

Lightspeed Venture Partners, an early backer of prominent startups such as Byju’s, Oyo and Udaan, has raised $275 million for its third India-focused fund.

The Silicon Valley-based firm which invest major growing companies like last FY, Oyo, and partly from Byju’s, has till date deployed about $700 million in India across two dedicated funds and its global arm.

Lightspeed’s spends $1-$3 million for their investment.

Bejul Somaia, a Partner of, Lightspeed Venture Partners explain that they focused on India for its developing status.

“LPs are still inclined to be selective opportunity from the country.

Last month, Sequoia Capital India raised $1.35 billion to deploy in India and Southeast Asia, one of the largest corpuses for venture investments in India.

In April, Lightspeed announced the closing of three new global funds totaling $4.2 billion and also they announce new investments.
