Russia’s spy satellite failed, fell to the earth after one and a half months [TKB World]

Russia sent the spy satellite Kosmos-2551 into space on 9 September 2021. But it failed shortly after the launch. After circling in space for about one and a half months, it fell on the earth on 20 October 2021. Which was seen by the people of the Mid-West region of America. Made a video of it. Its best view was seen in Michigan, USA.

The American Meteor Society (AMS) said that they have received more than 80 reports that Americans have seen this satellite fall from the sky to the earth. People from the south of Tennessee to the north of Michigan saw and recorded that sight. AMS shared a 27-second video of the falling satellite on YouTube. The video was made by Chris Johnson from the town of Fort Gratiot, Michigan.

Russia’s spy satellite Kosmos-2551 was seen on Wednesday, 20 October 2021, at 12.43 EDT. Astronomer and satellite tracker Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics tweeted that the time Kosmos-2551 was calculated to fall had exceeded it. There is a big difference in the time given by the US Space Force. But this difference also seems justified. Jonathan told that it was a Russian spy satellite.

Kosmos-2551 was a Russian satellite, which was launched on 9 September. But after a while it failed. Jonathan told that this satellite had not reached its orbit. He noticed this on October 18 while tracking it. Only then did he see that its direction had changed and it’s coming to earth.

Jonathan told by tweeting that the Kosmos-2551  satellite is coming towards the earth. It will enter the Earth’s atmosphere in the next 24 hours. Jonathan told that there was no danger on the ground from this satellite. While its weight was 500 kg. There was no apprehension of its waste reaching the ground.

Trash falling from space to Earth often produces beautiful fireworks, but these are usually rare. Last year, the third stage of Russia’s Soyuz rocket fell over Australia while firing fireworks.

Experts believe that the more satellites that are launched into space, the more such views will be seen. Small satellites get destroyed by the time they reach the earth. Most fall into the sea. But if a large-sized satellite falls on the ground, it can cause great devastation. Because of which scientists from all over the world keep an eye on the satellites circling the earth.
