Russia ready to transfer technology of Sputnik vaccine to India for free, will also provide financial help (TKB-World)

On the one hand, civil societies are appealing to US President Joe Biden to start a ‘Global Vaccine Manufacturing Program’ in which vaccine related technology can be shared and financial support is provided to companies and governments. At the same time, Russia has again announced that Russia is ready to share the necessary financial support and technology support for the manufacture of the Covid vaccine. Russia has said that it is ready to transfer technology to India, China and other allied countries for free.

Recently India’s Health Agency ‘Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has allowed the use of Russia’s Sputnik V Covid vaccine in India. Only after this announcement, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) agency, which is leading the manufacturing and global supply of this vaccine, has said that India has become the 60th country to allow Sputnik V Corona vaccine.

The CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund has said that “RDIF has partnered with big pharma companies of India which will not only provide vaccines to the citizens of India but will also undertake global distribution of this vaccine.” 850 million vaccine doses are going to be made in India every year, which is sufficient to immunize about 425 million people in the world.

RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev added, “Our vaccine is in partnership with twenty producers from ten countries, among them Gland Pharma, Hetero Biopharma, Panacea Biotec, Stelis Biopharma, Virchow Biotech are Indian companies that will undertake vaccine manufacturing with RDIF. There are plans to produce at least 50 million vaccines per year in India. Some companies are already producing vaccine-Russian vaccine. But the production of Sputnik V Corona vaccine is going to increase drastically in the next two to three months.
