The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has approved the nomination of Justice Ayesha Malik for appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court. After which Justice Ayesha will be the first woman SC judge in the judicial history of Pakistan.
The Judicial Commission of Pakistan on Thursday approved the elevation of Justice Ayesha Malik as a judge of the country’s Supreme Court. In such a situation, now she is going to become the first woman Supreme Court judge of Pakistan.
A LLM graduate from Harvard Law School, Justice Ayesha Malik was a partner in a leading corporate and commercial law firm before being promoted as a judge to the Lahore High Court in 2012. At the same time, during her promotion, she was the first woman judge of the Lahore High Court in the last 20 years.
She is known for her discipline and integrity and has decided on several key constitutional issues, including declaration of assets in elections, payments to sugarcane growers and enforcement of international arbitration in Pakistan.
