Imran Khan’s government has been dissolved in Pakistan. However, Imran Khan was successful in getting the no-confidence motion dismissed, saying it was a foreign conspiracy. But along with the opposition, now the army has also raised questions on this claim. Pakistan’s army does not believe in Imran’s theory of foreign conspiracy. According to The Express Tribune’s report, the military leadership at the National Security Committee meeting held on March 27, contradicted Imran Khan’s claims that they did not have any evidence to prove that America was involved in a conspiracy to topple the government.
On 27 March, the National Security Committee (NSC) headed by Prime Minister Imran met to discuss the diplomatic cable. In this meeting, the PTI government had claimed that they have evidence that America has conspired to change power in Pakistan. After the meeting, the NSC issued a statement expressing concern over the matter, saying that it amounts to interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs. After this, the NSC has decided to issue a demarche to the US.
In fact, in the National Assembly of Pakistan, when the opposition’s no-confidence motion was to be voted on and it was believed that the Imran government would fall, then the house was told on behalf of the Imran government that foreign conspiracies were taking place to topple the government. On this basis, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri decided to reject the opposition’s no-confidence motion against the Imran Khan government.
PM Imran had claimed that the NSC supported the government’s statement that the no-confidence motion was part of a conspiracy to remove him from power. But experts in the matter told The Express Tribune that a false impression was presented about the military leadership that they were backing Imran’s claim. It is being told that the military leadership did not even sign the minutes of the meeting. Sources said that according to the officials concerned, the US has not sent any letter to the government. This was the assessment of the Pakistani ambassador after meeting with US officials.
