According to analysts, this ballistic missile is the largest liquid-fueled missile ever launched by any country from a road mobile launcher. According to North Korea’s official news agency KCNA, Kim Jong Un himself monitored the test of this missile.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Hwaseong-17 (ICBM) reached a maximum altitude of 6,248 kilometers (3,880 mi). It covered 1,090 kilometers (680 mi) in 67 minutes before falling into the sea between North Korea and Japan. This test of an intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea is the first test since 2017. According to flight data, the missile had gone high before crashing into the sea west of Japan, which was higher than any missile test conducted by North Korea so far.
