NASA started testing electric car-aircraft [TKB Science]

The US space agency NASA has started flight tests of Joby Aviation’s electrical flying car. Joby Aviation has named this flying car eVTOL i.e. All Electric Takeoff and Landing Aircraft. Joby Aviation has made this car under NASA’s National Advanced Air Mobility Campaign. Flight testing of this flying car will run till 10 September 2021. Testing is going on in a bus on the Jobi Electric flight in Big Sur, California

This is the first time that NASA is going to test an electric flying car under its national campaign. The eVTOL aircraft will be flown as an airtaxi. It is designed to fly between cities and inside cities. In this, both people and goods can be transported from one place to another.

During the flight test, NASA will see the performance of this flying car. Also, with the help of the data received from it, it will prepare modeling and simulation of new aircraft and flying cars for the future. NASA will also tell where and what kind of changes to make in the rules of the Federal Aviation Administration. So that such air taxi services can be recognized.

David Hackenberg, head of NASA’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) campaign, said that under this national mission, we are examining the usefulness of future aviation services across the country. If it is successful, then in the next few years such services will be seen across the country. People coming from the country and abroad will benefit from this. With this there will be a new movement in the aviation industry.

It is believed that if the eVTOL aircraft is successful in NASA’s flight test, then by the end of the year 2022 it can be allowed to start civil aviation services in the country. This will create a new aviation industry in America. But passing this test will not be easy, because during the test hundreds of tests including aircraft technology, flight methods, noise, pollution level, communication system, emergency systems will be check.

The NASA team will use more than 50 microphones during the flight test of the eVTOL aircraft, to find out from the voice what will be the advantages and disadvantages of it. Like how much noise pollution will this cause? On the other hand Joby Aviation’s founder and CEO Joben Bivert has said that we are very confident that our plane will pass the NASA test.

Joben Bivert said that we have worked on this project for 10 years. It has also flown. It is a very successful flying car. You can fly it between cities. Can be taken from one city to another. With its help, cargo or courier can also be sent. We are delighted to be associated with NASA’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) campaign. One thing is for sure that when we are successful in this test, then our services will expand rapidly across the country.

Under the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) campaign, there is a campaign to provide facilities such as future package delivery drones, air taxis, medical transport vehicles in the US. With the help of this, many facilities will increase in America. Along with this, millions of people will also get employment.
