Italy: Indiscriminate firing in Rome, three killed including PM Meloni’s friend [TKB Europe]

According to the information, a meeting of people living in an apartment in the capital Rome was going on there. During this, a person took out a gun and started firing indiscriminately.

According to the news agency Reuters, three women, including a friend of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, were killed in this firing. Meloni shared a photo of himself with one of the victims, Nicoletta Golisano, on social media. Along with this, Meloni wrote with the picture – For me she will always be beautiful and happy like this. Regarding the incident, Prime Minister Meloni said that such incidents are not right.

Prime Minister Meloni said that the shooting range from which the suspect took the gun used in the attack has been closed and is being investigated by the authorities.

According to the information, the 57-year-old accused who attacked was arrested by the police. According to the police, this incident took place in the city’s Fideen district. A meeting of people living in a block of apartments was going on there. Meanwhile, the accused opened fire, although the people present there caught the accused. The people present in the meeting informed the police about the incident.

According to the agency, eyewitnesses told that the suspect was a local man, who had several disputes with the Residents Association.

Italian news agency Ansa quoted an eyewitness as saying that the accused entered the room first. He closed the door and started crying. The accused was repeatedly saying that I will kill you. Although no one believed that he would do this audacity. But in the meantime, the accused took out the gun and started firing indiscriminately.

Many people have been shot in this firing. Out of this, three people died, while four people were injured due to bullet injuries. the injured were admitted to the nearest hospital. In this, the condition of one person is said to be serious.
