Today for the present world we needed non violence concept hence International Day of Nonviolence is observed on October 2nd. This day is the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of the Indian independence movement and the pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence who was against the violence. The International Day for non violence is an occasion to “disseminate the message of non-violence through education and public awareness”. This day that is October 2nd is known as Gandhi Jayanti in India remarking the birth day of Mahatma Gandhi.
History
On 15 June 2007, the United Nations General Assembly approved the establishment of 2 October as the International Day of Nonviolence as a remarkable birth day celebration of Mahatma Gandhi who was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat,India.

Gandhi, who was one of the fighter against Britishers has been an inspiration for nonviolent movements for civil rights and social change around the world. Throughout his life, Mahatma Gandhi remained committed to his belief in non-violence even in oppressive conditions and great challenges he never supports violence or gun.He was a worshiper of non-violence.
