What happened in Pakistan so far?
The opposition in Pakistan had brought a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. This was rejected by the Deputy Speaker. After this, the President dissolved the Parliament on the recommendation of Imran. The opposition had moved the Supreme Court against the decision of the Deputy Speaker. The Supreme Court had overruled the decisions of the Deputy Speaker. The Supreme Court ordered the Speaker to conduct a vote on the no-confidence motion. After this, voting was held on the no-confidence motion in the National Assembly of Pakistan late on the night of 9 April and Imran failed in the floor test.

On the other hand, on the appeal of Imran Khan, a large number of PTI supporters took to the road on Sunday to oppose the opposition. Imran Khan also thanked his supporters. He tweeted, ‘Local Mir Jafar’s ploy to come to power after provocation of US support. The people of Pakistan opposed it. He further wrote, thank you all for the people’s support and show of emotion. Imran said that the protest of Pakistanis shows that they have strongly rejected it.
