Experts told that due to lack of sleep at night, feeling of sleepiness during the day, fatigue, bad mood and many types of diseases have to be faced.
What happens if children do not get enough sleep?
Lack of good sleep takes a toll on the physical and emotional health of children and thereby hinders normal growth and development. Children may have to face many problems due to lack of sleep, such as, decrease in school performance, difficulty in getting up early in the morning, irritability, mood swings, depression etc.
Do elders need less sleep
Some research suggests that the need for sleep may not change with age, but the ability to get the necessary sleep decreases with age. Older adults have less ability to sleep due to their illnesses and medications. With age, sleep quality also starts decreasing. The sleep quality of the elderly is very low. There are many reasons behind this like Insomnia, Restless Leg Syndrome, and Midnight Urination etc.
