Funny and weird way to celebrate new year celebration [TKB World]

New Year is celebrated all over the world by joyful actions like, eating and drinking, dancing and singing. This is a common way everywhere. But there are some countries or places in the world where the new year is celebrated in very strange ways. These include throwing chairs from windows, throwing couch, throwing food plates and breaking them, burning effigies etc.

Ecuador:  On New Year’s Eve in Ecuador, people burn the Scarecrow effigy. The people here believe that whatever bad has happened to them in the last 12 months will end with this. Paper is filled inside this effigy. Along with this some people also burn photographs of last year.

Denmark:  In Denmark, it is a custom to break the crockery like Greece. People break plates of food here on New Year’s Eve. There are also many such plates, which are kept throughout the year so that they can be broken on the last evening of the year. People do this work along with their relatives and  at the door of the relatives house.

Japan: According to the Buddhist tradition in Japan, the bell is played 108 times to eliminate the evils and troubles of the previous year. The sound of this bell is preferred in Japan. It is also believed that playing it will bring happiness in the coming year, people will keep smiling.

Philippines:  On New Year’s Eve in the Philippines, people walk around coins, clothes and other things in a circular circle. They keep coins and money in their pockets. It is believed that this gives them prosperity. Most people wear polka dots while walking in this circle.

Italy: Just before the new year, in some areas of Italy, it is a tradition to throw old furniture from the windows and balconies. To not hurt any one,  now a days they use use soft and small things. Old furniture thrown away to wash away old troubles

South America:  On New Year’s Eve in South American countries like Mexico, Bolivia and Brazil, the color of your underwear decides what your next year will be like. How will be your luck? Those who want love, wear red colored underpants. Those who want money are of yellow color. Those who want peace, wear white colored underwear.

Argentina: In Argentina, at the time of lunch just before the New Year, on December 31, at lunch, old documents and papers are thrown from the windows. With this tradition, the people of Argentina want to tell that your history ends by throwing papers.
