Fighter Jet Tejas Technology to Build 500 Oxygen Plants, DRDO’s New Mission (TKB-Update)

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has decided to take an excellent step to relieve the shortage of oxygen to the corona virus victims in the country. DRDO will build 500 oxygen plants in the next three months. These oxygen plants will be built using indigenous Tejas technology. These plants will supply oxygen throughout the country.

DRDO itself has developed the technology of these 500 Medical Oxygen Plants (MOP). By the same technique, oxygen is supplied in the indigenous lightweight multirole combat fighter jet. That is, now the technique with which the pilots sitting inside the fighter aircraft Tejas get oxygen, by using the same technique, oxygen will be given to the corona patients.

1000 liters of oxygen can be made per minute through a plant. This system can deliver oxygen to 190 patients at a time. DRDO said that 195 oxygen cylinders can be filled per day with this technology. Which 190 Corona patients will be supplied oxygen at the rate of 5 liters of oxygen per minute.

DRDO said that hospitals can produce much higher amounts of oxygen inside their own campus with this technology. It is also very cheap. This will save the cost of procuring oxygen cylinders or tankers. Also, the supply of oxygen will not be less in hospitals. Corona patients will continue to supply oxygen.

Once this MOP plant is installed in the hospital, then after that the hospital will get rid of the hassle of procuring oxygen. Also, dependence on cylinders will also end. If there is no system of central oxygen supply, then patients can be given the breath of life by filling oxygen in the cylinder.

DRDO said that he has transferred this technology to Tata Endawasand Systems Bangalore and Trident Pneumatics Pvt Ltd Coimbatore. Together these two institutes will build 380 medical oxygen plants in different hospitals of the country. Apart from this, industrial units will set up 120 plants with a capacity of 500 liters in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Petroleum Dehradun.

Preparations have started for the 380 medical oxygen plants that DRDO has decided to build with Tata and Trident. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has praised this effort and technique of DRDO. He said that through this technique of DRDO, millions of corona patients will get the breath of life. In the time of such crisis, this decision of DRDO is welcome.

DRDO Chief Dr. G. Satish Reddy has assured that DRDO is ready to supply oxygen to all Corona patients in the country due to its techniques. He will ensure the installation of plots with this technique in all major hospitals. Along with this, it will also coordinate with different health agencies.
