Flood has caused severe destruction in Tennessee, USA. So far 21 people have died due to the floods and more than 50 people are still missing. Officials have confirmed that number may increase. Heavy rain recorded continuously due to which the situation has worsened.

Officials said that many areas of Tennessee received more than 17 inches of rain from Saturday afternoon to evening, due to which the situation has worsened. The flood has caused terrible destruction in the city of Waverly. Hundreds of houses have been submerged.

Waverly Mayor Wallace Frazier told the Tennessean newspaper that the victims of the floods ranged from children to the elderly. According to the Washington Post, the 7-month-old twins slipped from the hands of their parents and died after being drowned in the water.

As per Kansas Klein, the owner of a restaurant saw a terrible flood in the city of Waverly from a bridge on Saturday morning. He told that two girls were going with their dog and both got washed away in the flood. Due to heavy rains and floods, there is destruction all around. Houses have been submerged. Big trees have been uprooted. Hundreds of cars and pickups were washed away.

48-year-old Cindy Dunn told the local newspaper that her house was flooded by 6 feet, after which she and her husband had to save their lives by staying on the roof of the house. Later the rescue team saved the couple.
