This feature is currently released for beta version. Companion mode feature is being given to some lucky users. With this, they can add the new phone as a secondary device. This feature was first spotted by WABetainfo.
WABetainfo has also shared a screenshot regarding this. It can be seen that a new option has been given for this. Along with link to tablet support, beta users are also getting phone support. For this, the option of Link with your phone will be available in the option of the linked device.
After this the app will ask to scan the QR code. It is the same as you use WhatsApp to run on desktop or WhatsApp web. Your chats will be synced on both the phones as soon as you link the phone to the WhatsApp account.
However, features such as live location, stickers and broadcasts will not sync. You can add up to four devices from one WhatsApp account. Two more phones can be linked to the same WhatsApp account. As mentioned above, this feature is currently made available to beta testers. The company can soon release this feature for all the users.
