Fatty liver? [TKB Health]

When excess amount of fat accumulates in the liver, then one has to face a disease called fatty liver. Although, fatty liver is not a big problem in itself, but ignoring this disease can be wrong. There are two types of fatty liver – alcoholic fatty liver, which is caused by drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and the other is non-alcoholic fatty liver, this problem occurs due to not taking care of diet.

According to experts, if the problem of fatty liver increases, then it can also lead to liver cancer. If a person’s liver is not working properly, then the fat and protein present in the body can increase the level of cholesterol or LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) ie bad cholesterol, which can increase the risk of heart attack.

Keep these points in mind in fatty liver:

  •  Keep weight balanced

Fatty liver can be caused by obesity. If you want to reduce the risk of fatty liver, then reduce your weight. Exercise regularly to lose weight, stay away from junk food and follow a healthy diet.

  • Limit alcohol consumption

Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to fatty liver disease. If you have fatty liver, it is very important to avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol.

  • Balance Health

If you have health problems like diabetes, high cholesterol and high BP, try to keep them balanced. Keep in mind, fatty liver can increase your problem.

  • Take a healthy diet

Cut down on refined sweets and sugar from your diet. Include healthy things in the diet which include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats.

  • Avoid Unnecessary Medicines

Do not take any medicine from the chemist’s shop by your own choice. Apart from this, if the medicine for any disease is going on, then know from the doctor whether it will have any adverse effect on the liver.
