In Seychelles, 57 percent of the people have been given the Chinese Sinofarm and the rest have been given a covishield vaccine from Oxford made in India. In India too, most people are getting the Covishield vaccine, in such a situation, it is also a matter of concern for India. However, according to the Seychelles News Agency, none of the infected people taking the Corona vaccine have died yet.

In Seychelles with a population of less than 100,000, the vaccination campaign was carried out very rapidly. However, after increasing cases, last week, a decision has been taken to close schools and cancel sporting events again. People meeting has also been banned.

Tourism in Seychelles is the source of livelihood for most people. Vaccination work was done in full swing here so that this place could be opened for tourists soon. The WHO has also expressed concern among the questions arising on the vaccine. The World Health Organization says that without any review it cannot be said that the vaccine is not working. Cases growing in Seychelles are being evaluated.

Kate O’Brien, director of the WHO’s vaccine and biological department, said in a briefing that the World Health Organization is in direct contact with the government of Seychelles. He said that the strain of the virus and its severity need to be reviewed to understand the case.

However, both the Government of Seychelles and the WHO say that most of the people who have been infected with corona have either not been vaccinated or given a dose. Those who took both doses of the vaccine, neither of them died from corona. Serious cases of corona are being seen only among those who do not have the vaccine.

The WHO says that it is closely monitoring the situation in Seychelles. The organization says that by simply applying the vaccine, the infection cannot be prevented from spreading. People will have to maintain rules like social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands.
