On Monday(05/04/2021) night, earthquake tremors were felt in many states including Bihar, West Bengal,and Assam . The earthquake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale. Apart from Bengal,and Bihar earthquake tremors were felt in Assam and Sikkim as well. After the tremors of the earthquake, the people were scared and pulled out of the houses.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of this earthquake was the Indo-Bhutan border, 25 km from the Sikkim capital Gangtok. The tremors were felt at 8.49 pm.
The central government is in action mode after the earthquake. According to sources, PM Modi himself is meeting with the Chief Ministers of the affected states to get information about the damage caused by the earthquake. According to sources, till now PM Modi has spoken to the Chief Ministers of Bihar, Assam and Sikkim. Till now no big damage noticed by the NDRF or SDRF team.
