Draupadi Murmu has won the presidential election. NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu defeated the opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha by a huge margin in the presidential election. She will be the INDIA’s first female tribal president. Draupadi Murmu won the presidential election in the third round of counting of votes. Then after the fourth and last round of counting, the margin of victory increased further.
Counting of votes for the presidential election took place in four rounds. A total of 4754 votes were cast in the election. At the time of counting 4701 votes were found valid and 53 votes were found invalid. Out of this, Draupadi Murmu got a total of 2824 votes. Their value were 676803. Whereas Yashwant Sinha got I877 votes. Whose value was 380177.
Yashwant Sinha’s vote account not opened in three states
According to the voting chart that came after the results, Draupadi Murmu got votes from every state. But she got the maximum votes from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. She has got the least votes in Punjab and Delhi. On the other hand, the account of opposition candidate Yashwant did not even got a single vote in three states. Sinha did not get a single vote in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Nagaland. Yashwant Sinha has got the maximum votes in West Bengal and UP according to the value of the vote.
Draupadi Murmu went on to win round by round
Draupadi Murmu was ahead of Yashwant Sinha from the first round. The votes of MPs were counted in the first round. In the first round, Draupadi Murmu got 540 votes with a value of 3,78,000. While Yashwant Sinha got 208 votes with a value of 1,45,600. A total of 15 votes were invalid in the first round.
Then in the second round the votes of 10 states were counted. The total valid votes in this were 1138, with a total value of 1,49,575. Out of this, Draupadi Murmu got 809 votes, whose value was 1,05,299 and Yashwant Sinha got 329 votes, whose value was 44,276.
After the counting of votes of the third round, it became clear that Draupadi Murmu would be the next President of the country. Talking about the counting of votes for the third round, the total votes in this were 1,333. Whose value was 1,65,664. Out of this, Murmu got 812 votes. Whereas Yashwant Sinha got 521 votes.
PM Modi went home and congratulated
There was an atmosphere of happiness across the country on Draupadi Murmu winning the election of Her Majesty. There was a vigorous celebration from Raisina Hill in Delhi to his village Rairangpur. The veterans wished her well. PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda visited Draupadi Murmu’s house and congratulated her. Leaders of opposition Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mamta Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal also gave Murmu congratulatory messages.
Draupadi Murmu was born in Odisha
Draupadi Murmu was born in 1958 in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. In 1979, she did her BA from Ramadevi College, Bhubaneswar. Then in 1997 she entered politics and joined BJP. She became a councilor in the same year. Then in 2000 she was elected MLA from Rairangpur. In the same year, she was made a minister in the state government of Odisha. As an MLA, she did a great job. Therefore, in 2009, she was re-elected as an MLA. After this she was the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015-2021.
