Dozens of headless penguins found on the shores of Australia, scientists are searching for the reason [TKB Science]

A very surprising sight has been seen on the beaches of Australia. Dozens of penguins are found beheaded. Scientists are upset seeing this condition of penguins. They are investigating what is the reason behind so many penguins beheaded. In the month of April alone, the bodies of about 20 penguins were found on the beaches in the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia. This figure is more than the number of deaths of penguins in this area in 2021.

In South Australia, Stephen Hedges is collecting the body of these dead penguins so that they can be studied. It can be found out why their heads have been chopped off. How are they cut? What is the reason behind this.

Not only the bodies of penguins, but their severed heads are also being found on the shores of the sea. The possibility of human hand in this case has been ruled out, as these deaths are taking place in the sea. But Stephen Hedges has expressed the possibility that there are a large number of ships in this area. Fishing boat fans can be the cause of death. He said that we usually find one or two dead penguins on beaches every month, but only in April we have found between 15 to 20 bodies. Sometimes even three bodies have been found in a day. Scientists say that the head of the penguin was separated in one go.

Stephen Hedges says that there was a recent fishing competition near Encounter Bay, which may have attracted penguins around the boats. Apart from this, tourism can also be a reason behind the killings of penguins. Because many tourists came to this area due to Easter and weekends. Many tourists were roaming on the sea shores with their dogs. Apart from this, this can also be done by foxes. However, it will take two or three weeks for scientists to find the real reason.

Last September, a swarm of bees killed 63 endangered African penguins off the coast of South Africa. On post-mortem, bee stings were found around the penguin’s eyes.
