Digi Yatra: Your face will become your boarding pass, know how to use it [TKB India]

Many times during the air travel, people finds many problems. In such a situation, a new technique based on Face Recognition Technology (FRT) has been introduced at many airports, so that passengers can make their journey easier by using the Digi Yatra app.
With this, passengers will be able to pass through different check points at the airport in a paperless and contactless process using face recognition to establish the identity associated with the boarding pass. For this, they only have to register on the Digi Yatra app.

After this, the boarding pass will have to be scanned on the app itself. This information will reach the airport. The bar code of the boarding pass will be scanned at the e-gate of the airport. For this, FRT system is being installed through which passenger’s facial recognition and travel documents will be verified. After completion of the process, passengers can take entry in the airport.

However, they will also have to go through the security check and normal procedure while boarding the aircraft. Initially it has been made available at Delhi, Bengaluru and Varanasi airports. In the coming time, there is a plan to make it available at other airports as well. At present it has been made available for domestic travel only.

How to use Digi Yatra app?

First of all you have to download Digi Yatra app on your smartphone. You can download it on Android or iPhone. After the app is downloaded, open it. After this you have to tap on the Get Started button. Then the registration process will start. Here you have to click on the mobile number and Register button. Now you will get OTP on your phone. After OTP is verified, click on Wallet option. After this, upload your Aadhaar verified credentials by tapping on Identity Credentials. Then upload the selfie when prompted. You can use it after accepting the terms and conditions.
