Dengue Fever: How is dengue fever caused? Know its symptoms, prevention and treatment [TKB Health]

Dengue Fever: Dengue is a disease caused by the bite of the Aedes mosquito. Dengue causes high fever, headache, muscle and joint pain. In dengue, the platelets of the body start falling rapidly. In this, the patient needs to be admitted to the hospital immediately, otherwise the patient’s life can also be lost due to not getting treatment on time. It can be treated only by recognizing the symptoms of dengue.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, dengue infection is a common problem occurring in more than 100 countries around the world and approximately three billion people live in dengue-affected areas.

Symptoms of Dengue Fever

Symptoms of dengue appear about 4 or 6 days after infection.

1. High fever
2. Headache
3. Eye pain
4. Muscle and Joint Pain
5. Fatigue
6. Nausea
7. Vomiting
8. Red marks on the skin

However, there is an increased risk of DHF (Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever) in severe cases. In this condition, the blood vessels get damaged and platelets start falling. In such a situation the following symptoms may be seen:

1.Stomach Pain
2. Frequent vomiting
3. Bleeding gums or nose
4. Blood in the toilet or vomit
5. Difficulty in breathing
6. feeling tired
7. Irritability or restlessness

Treatment for Dengue Fever

There is no specific medicine or exact treatment available for dengue. Some home remedies can be very effective in this. In such a situation, more and more water should be drunk. In extremely severe cases, the patient should be given electrolyte supplements. In some cases, it is also treated through blood pressure monitoring and blood transfusion. Do not forget to take medicines like aspirin or ibuprofen on your own.

Preventing Dengue Fever

Use mosquito repellents, mosquito nets as much as possible. Close the doors and windows of your house before dusk. Wear clothes that completely cover the body. Make sure that water does not collect around. Keep changing the cooler water. Keep the water covered. Change the water of outdoor birds or pets regularly.
