Recently, some scientists have emphasized that every new infection can help in the mutation of corona virus, due to which new variants can emerge and they can be more dangerous. If there is a mutation of the virus then even more devastation can happen.

More dangerous variant may come

Dr. Stuart Campbell Ray, an infection disease expert at Johns Hopkins University, was quoted as saying by Bloomberg, “The new variant of Corona may be like the Omicron variant, a combination of strains or even a completely different one.” It is possible. China’s population is very large and very few people have immunity against corona. In this environment, the fear of new variants being born is more.

Dr. Stuart further explained, “Every new infection gives Covid a new opportunity to mutate. If China has a population of 1.4 billion, then Covid can spread rapidly there because the ‘Zero-Covid’ policy is almost over there. Immunity has also reduced in the people of China, so this virus can be helped to mutate.

Dr. Stuart said, whenever there have been dangerous waves of corona infection, we have seen new variants being born. He said that the virus is like a boxer who keeps on developing himself to avoid the opponent.

Dr. Stuart further said, “The effect of corona infection that we have seen softening in the last six to 12 months in many parts of the world is either due to vaccination or due to strong immunity against infection. Not Because the virus has become less dangerous than before.

At the same time, Dr. Shan-Lu Liu, who studied the virus at Ohio State University in Columbus, said, several Omicron variants have been detected in China, including the recent catastrophic BF.7.  Dr. Gagandeep Kang, who studied the virus at the Christian Medical College of India, has said that it has to be seen whether this virus will spread again in China with the same pattern as it has spread in other countries or a new pattern will emerge.

Amidst the recent increase in corona infection in China, health experts are anticipating about 100 million Covid cases and 1 million deaths in China. Dr. Neeraj Kumar Gupta, HOD of Pulmonary Medicine at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, has said, “Based on mathematical calculations, we can see close to 100 million Covid cases in China, 5 million people admitted to the hospital and 10 million hospitalized.” They are anticipating the death of millions of people, which is a huge number.
