Corona cases increased in record number in Russia [TKB World]

A record number of corona cases have now been reported after the epidemic started in Russia, which gave the world’s first corona vaccine Sputnik-V. The Russian government says that this is the record number of people who have died due to corona since the beginning of the epidemic.

Corona cases have increased rapidly in Russia since the beginning of this month. On Tuesday, 28,190 new cases of corona were registered in Russia. Russia’s Corona Virus Task Force has registered 7.8 million corona cases so far. Apart from this, more than 218 K people have died due to this epidemic.

Russia’s statistics agency Rosstat has also reported that more than 417 K people have died in the corona period, including corona and other diseases. The Russian government has acknowledged that the slow pace of vaccination is responsible for this. The population of Russia is 146 million. Out of this, only 33 percent i.e. 47.8 million people have received a single dose of the vaccine. Whereas 42.4 million people i.e. 29 percent people have got both the doses. Despite the ever-increasing corona cases and deaths in Russia, the Kremlin has refused to impose a nationwide lockdown. However, the government is in favor of imposing strict rules regarding the corona virus. At the same time, they talking to the local governments so that they try to reduce the cases of corona by imposing strict rules in the states.

Some states of Russia have banned the gathering of people in public gatherings, festivals, theaters, restaurants etc. This ban also includes those who are fully vaccinated. Or have recovered from Corona. Or his corona report has come negative in the last 72 hours.

Normal life is normal in Russia’s capital Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities. Business establishments are open. But the rules of masks and social distancing are not being strictly followed in all these cities. In Moscow, the local government has made arrangements for free corona testing in places like shopping malls.

On October 11, 2021, severe cases of corona in Moscow reached 5002. Whereas a day before this, there were 4610 serious cases of corona. Every day 6 to 10 people are dying due to corona in Moscow. The Russian government and local state governments are very concerned about this.
