On this festival, the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, has special significance. On this day, people pray to Saraswati for the bestowing of knowledge. The Panchami Tithi of Basant Panchami will start on 2nd February at 9:14 am and the Tithi will end on 3rd February at 6:52 am.
The Muhurta of worshiping Goddess Saraswati on Basant Panchami will be from 7:09 am to 12:35 pm on 2nd February. Only 5 hours and 26 minutes will be available for worship on this day.
How to worship Goddess Saraswati
On this day, wear yellow, Basanti and white clothes, not black or red clothes. After this, start the worship facing the east or north direction. Use two and a half hours after sunrise or two and a half hours after sunset for this worship. Then, offer white sandalwood and yellow and white flowers to Goddess Saraswati with the right hand. Offer sugar candy, curd and lava in prasad, it would be best to offer saffron mixed kheer. After that, chant the basic mantra of Goddess Saraswati ‘Om Aim Saraswatyai Namah’, accept the prasad after chanting.
