Basant Panchami 2024: Today the festival of Basant Panchami is being celebrated across the country. This festival is celebrated every year on Magh Shukla Panchami Tithi. The day of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Mother Saraswati. On this day, worshiping Goddess Saraswati as per the rituals brings blessings of education and knowledge. Saraswati Stotra should also be chanted on the day of Saraswati Puja. Also, keep any book, musical instrument or any artistic thing necessary at the place of worship.

Auspicious time of Basant Panchami (Basant Panchami shubh muhurt)
Basant Panchami will be from 02.41 pm on 13th February till 12.09 pm the next day on 14th February. Due to Oriya date, the festival of Basant Panchami will be celebrated on 14th February. The auspicious time of Saraswati Puja on this day will be from 07.00 am to 12.41 pm. That means you will have about five and a half hours of time for Saraswati Puja.

Worship method of Basant Panchami (Saraswati Puja vidhi)
Wake up early on the day of Basant Panchami. Prepare for puja after thoroughly cleaning your house. Before taking bath on this day, apply a paste of Neem and turmeric on your body. After bathing, wear yellow or white colored clothes. Place the idol or statue of Mother Saraswati at the place of worship. Keep the idol of Lord Ganesha next to the idol or statue of Mother Saraswati. On this day, keep any book, musical instrument or any artistic thing necessary at the place of worship. After this, decorate a clean thali or plate with kumkum, turmeric, rice and flowers and worship Lord Ganesha and Mother Saraswati. After this chant the mantras of Mother Saraswati.
