While countries around the world are giving the corona vaccine to their people as soon as possible, Australia has another challenge in front of it. There are thousands of people who have to be compensated by the Australian government. This compensation is to be given in lieu of vaccine-related injuries. Actually, there the government started the no-fault indemnity scheme.
According to the news of Morning Herald, the government of Australia has to give bunch of money as compensation to about 10 thousand people. According to the scheme, compensation is to be given to such people who got side effects after getting the corona vaccine, then they were admitted to the hospital or lost their jobs.
Compensation to be paid starts from $5,000, which includes medical expenses and loss of income. In such a situation, the government has to give about $ 50 million (about Rs 372 crore) as compensation.
According to the Medical Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia, there have been 36.8 million doses of the corona vaccine. Out of this, 79 thousand cases of side effect have been reported after the vaccine. Out of this, more than 10 thousand people have been claimed for compensation. Common side effects such as arm pain, headache, fever and chills are also included in the total number of cases.
TGA had received 288 reports in which there were problems related to the heart. All of them had got the Pfizer vaccine. There were also 160 cases of blood clots after the Astragenica vaccine.
So far, a total of 1,90,604 cases of corona have been reported in Australia, out of which 1,888 people have died. At present there are 20,622 active cases of corona, out of which only 615 have needed to be admitted to the hospital.
