The latest figures are from Friday, which shows how fast the infection is spreading in Florida. A day earlier i.e. on Thursday, 17,093 new cases were reported there. Earlier on January 7, 19,334 new cases were reported, which was the largest ever figure of new cases reported in a day. So far there have been more than 39 thousand deaths in Florida and this week there have been 409 deaths.

However, despite this, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has opposed the mandatory wearing of masks and the vaccine. De Santis has blamed the weather for the rising corona cases. He says that due to the heat, most of the people are still at home and running AC. The infection spreads rapidly due to AC.

Increasing number of hospitalized patients

In Florida, 60% of the population between the ages of 12 and 60 years has been vaccinated, but despite this, cases are increasing rapidly here. The Florida Hospital Association said on Friday that the number of corona patients admitted to the hospital is increasing rapidly. The number of admitted patients has reached almost equal to the previous peak. Meanwhile, hospitals have also been advised to postpone surgery and operations for the treatment of corona patients. According to health officials, cases of corona in Florida have increased by more than 50% and the number of hospitalized patients has reached its previous peak.

The compulsory wearing of masks was abolished there as vaccination increased and cases decreased, but now again emphasis is being placed on wearing masks there.
