But recently some researchers have discovered such a diet which can give longevity life. They named this diet as ‘Longevity Diet‘.
Experts from the University of Southern California reviewed various research on diet over the past 100 years to learn about diets for longevity. In these researches, it was told which are the foods that are the best way to live longer and healthier.
In the review, scientists found that legumes, whole grains, vegetables, nuts and olive oil should be consumed. Fish should be eaten, chicken should be eaten less and red-processed meat should not be eaten at all. Apart from this, sugar and refined grains like white bread, white pasta should also not be consumed in the diet. Dark chocolate can also be included in diet.
Fasting for 12 hours
Researchers recommend fasting for at least 12 hours per day and 5 days every few months for those who are at risk of any disease. If someone takes such a diet, then they do not grow old quickly. This diet also reduces the risk of aging-related diseases such as diabetes and cancer. According to Dr. Walter Longo, the lead author of this research and expert in Aging-Biological Science, this diet is not just for losing weight. Its aim is to slow down the rate of aging and keep the body healthy for a long time. The findings of Aging Expert Dr. Longo and Professor Rozalyn Anderson at the University of Wisconsin were published in the journal Cell. According to which, these ways of eating can remove obesity, diabetes and cancer.
What should be the balance diet
- Eat food in pieces at least 5 times every day. Include fruits and vegetables in this as well.
- Do not consume potatoes, bread, rice, pasta or other starchy carbohydrates.
- Take 30 grams of fiber in a day. For fiber, eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, peeled potatoes.
- Consume some dairy or dairy products as well.
- Eat beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other proteins.
- Consume saturated oil.
- Drink 6-8 cups/glass of water in a day
