75.06% of the voting took place in the 7th phase in Bengal, so far the lowest number of votes were cast in this phase.(TKB-Update)

In West Bengal, voting for the 7th phase was completed on Monday. With this, the election campaign of Bengal was also stopped. According to the Election Commission, 75.06% voting has taken place in the 7th phase. However, this figure is not yet final. The Election Commission said that 11,376 polling stations were built for the 34 seats of the 7th phase and peaceful voting took place everywhere. Of these, 5,982 polling booths i.e. 52.58% were also monitored through webcasting.

According to the Election Commission, the lowest voting has taken place in the 7th phase in the elections held in Bengal so far. However, this is not yet the final figure and there may be changes. Still, if you look at the figures so far, then this is the lowest voting till date. According to the commission, voting was 84.63% in the first phase, 86.11% in the second phase, 84.61% in the third phase, 79.90% in the fourth phase, 82.49% in the fifth phase and 82% in the sixth phase. Whereas, 75.06% voting has been recorded in the 7th phase.

The Election Commission said that so far, a record Rs 332.94 crore has been seized in Bengal in the 7th phase. Whereas, during the 2016 assembly elections, only 44.33 crore rupees were recovered by the Election Commission. Accordingly, this time till now the Election Commission from Bengal has recovered more than 751% of the amount as compared to the previous election. However, out of these only Rs 53.48 crore has been recovered in cash. The rest of the money has been recovered in the form of drugs, alcohol or other forms. For example, till the 7th phase, the Commission has recovered liquor worth more than Rs. 35 crores.

During the 7th phase voting, the Election Commission has recovered 15 live bombs at the Bailiganj assembly seat. Whereas, 19 crude bombs were seized from Hooghly Jute Mill Colony. In addition, the commission arrested two militants from Malda district with weapons.

In Bengal, on April 29, voting will be held in 35 seats in the last phase. The results will be announced on 2 May.
