3rd wave of corona may come in next 6-7 months.(TKB-Health)

Right now Corona is struggling with the second wave of infection. But experts are now beginning to anticipate the arrival of the third wave. The third wave will come, all the experts are still considering this thing, but how long will it come, nothing can be said about it yet.

Principal Scientific Advisor of the Central Government, Professor Vijay Raghavan said on Wednesday that after the second wave, the third wave will also come. Speaking at the press conference, he said, “The third wave will also come. But when it comes and how dangerous it is, nothing can be said about it. The variants of the coronavirus are constantly changing, so we have to be ready for the third wave as well.” ” He also said that the vaccine is effective, but scientists are also working on upgrading it.

How long can the third wave last? Dr. Giridhar Babu, an epidemiologist at the Indian Institute of Public Health, Bangalore, says, “It is feared to be cold. In late November or early December. So those who are most at risk of this infection are Need to vaccinate as soon as possible. ” Dr. Giridhar is also a member and advisor of the National Covid Task Force in Karnataka. He says that the next wave can affect the young population.

However, he also says that “the third wave depends on the three factors. The first is how many people we vaccinate until December. Second, how much we can stop the super spreader event and the third is how quickly we get the virus.” Is able to identify new variants and stop it. ”

What can happen when the third wave arrives? In response, Mathematical Model Expert Professor M. Vidyasagar says, “In the second wave itself, a large population is getting infected. These include people who are not being tested or are asymptomatic, but they are infected. It is happening, they will have immunity against the virus for at least 6 months. But after that the immunity may weaken. So we have to accelerate the vaccination program. Within 6 months, the high risk population will have to be vaccinated, so that the third wave Don’t be as frightening as the second wave. ”

Dr. Babu says “Many states have ignored the advice of scientists on the second wave. Now we have to make a plan, so that we can manage many waves. Also, a plan for vaccination has to be prepared.”

He said, “As soon as we get out of the second wave, we have to implement permanent solutions. We need to create an aggressive strategy to reduce the number of cases and deaths. We have to increase testing facilities. A stronger Infrastructure has to be erected. ”

According to government figures, 16.4 million people have been vaccinated in the country so far. At the same time, only 2.30 lakh people between 18 and 44 years of age have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours. So far, only 11% of the population in India is such that at least one dose of vaccine has been taken. These figures are very low because we have to vaccinate 40 to 50 lakh people every day. But this is not happening due to lack of vaccine.

At the same time, it is being speculated about the peak of the second wave that it may come on 7 May. Professor M. Vidyasagar had told in an interview to India Today recently that on May 7, the second wave of the country may reach a peak. After this, there can be a decrease in new cases. However, peak will come at different times in different states.
