What is Blue Flag Certificate?
- Foundation for Environment Education (FEE) in Denmark gives the globally recognized Eco Label Blue Flag Certificate. For which 33 mandatory criteria like environmental, safety related, educational etc. have to be fulfilled.
12 Indian Beaches in Blue Beaches List
However, two new beaches in Lakshadweep have got the globally recognized International Eco Label ‘Blue Flag Certificate‘. After which the number of Indian beaches has increased to 12 after being included in this list.
Apart from Thundi and Kadmat Beach of Lakshadweep other Indian beaches included in the Blue Beach List are
- Shivrajpur Beach in Gujarat,
- Ghoghala in Diu,
- Golden Beach in Odisha,
- Padubidri and Kasarkode Beach in Karnataka,
- Rushikonda in Andhra Pradesh,
- Kappad Beach in Kerala,
- Radhanagar of Andaman and Nicobar ,
- Eden Beach in Puducherry and
- Kovalam Beach in Tamil Nadu.
