120 meteorites will fall from the sky every hour on the night of December 14 [TKB Science]

There will be a rain of 120 meteorites every hour. This is called the Geminid Meteor Shower. People in India can watch it after 6.30 pm. If the sky is clear then you will get to see the sky fireworks.

The best view will be seen only after dark in the evening. The rain of Geminid meteorites has started from 4 December 2022. It will end on 17 December. During this entire time, meteorites will be seen raining in the sky. But on the night of 14th December it will be more intense and most beautiful. These meteorites are coming from Gemini constellation.

You can get to see this beautiful sight till late night of 14th December. That is, you can enjoy this celestial phenomenon by sitting on the terrace or balcony, wearing the best winter clothes and having tea. As the earth rotates, the rain of meteorites will be visible to other countries. Will go on disappearing from your eyes. It is raining even during the day but it is not visible in the sunlight.

The Geminid meteor shower is the debris left behind by the stony comet 3200 Phaethon. This comet is a very big sky stone of 5.8 kilometers. When it passes close to the sun, then its pieces move back rapidly. In space, they are formed in the form of meteorites. When the earth comes close to them, it rains sky. The stones coming out of Phaethon enter the Earth’s atmosphere at a speed of 1.27 lakh kilometers per hour.
